Why I do documentary photography
My daughter once had feet that fit in my fingers, and eyes that couldn't stay open. When she is sleeping I remember that tiny baby girl, who was perfect and so scary all at once. I hear her newborn grunts in the way she talks, and I saw her tiny toes grow into ones that walk.
Change is so bittersweet, so hard but so beautiful.
Having my daughter has made me appreciate the realness of our family. I found myself wanting to keep memories of the way my husband holds her as they dance, and the way she giggles when she sees our dogs. Her good morning smile while the sun wakes up just behind her, and her relentless want, to grow.
This is why I started doing documentary family photography. I have seen all of the beauty in the mess, the reality, and in the constant change. I want people to have those memories to keep and look back on, because the way your family is right now, they won't ever be again.
About Me
I am married to a wonderful man, we've been together for six years. I am a mom to a incredible little girl, who brings light and chaos to our lives. We have two big dogs and a cat, they help fill our house with muddy floors and lots of love. I have been doing photography for years, but recently found documentary style photography. I love every real moment my family has and I love that I get to capture those moments for other families.
FAQ
Will you post my kid's face?
I think it is up to each parent to decide when, where and how their children's faces are seen online. I use photos I take to collect a gallery, but I do not post your children's faces. In some cases this may lead to strange photo crops and less photos posted from a session, but I think that's worth it to give parent's the choice.
I want something different than what is listed
The sessions I have listed are just the most common, to give an idea of price range. I would love to hear about the session you are wanting to do and I can give you a price after we discuss the details!
Where are you located?
I am located in Pocatello, Idaho but I am willing to do sessions elsewhere, with a possible traveling fee depending on location.
